Using the Points stack to show actionable points inside of which is the Google Maps 3 stack called Map Static. Note that the Points demo shows a set up with Google Maps 2.6.2 so I had to figure out which of the various sub stacks of Google Maps 3 to use.
I first tried Google Map Embed which is free to use but the problem with that is that it allows the user to zoom in and out and the points in the Points stack do not cater for that behaviour. They end up in the wrong position on the map.
So the map used with Points has to be a static map. Its best to think of it as an image and taking a screenshot of a Google map would work equally well but might create some copyright issues.

Note: The Static Maps API does cost $0.002 per request.
